American kids are often told anyone can grow up to be president — but if you’re 10-year-old Alena Mulhern, that’s just a big fat lie. Rather than accept it, she’s taken on the herculean task of changing it.
Yes 👏🏼 girl 👏🏼 preach 👏🏼 it 👏🏼
now i do have a problem with this, the whole reason we have that article is to protect american interests. she wasn’t born here, and no matter the fact that she came over so young, as did lots of other young children that still can’t be president. even Britain has that clause, its the point of the fact that you are natural born of the country. its not trying to be racist, and in fact anyone can hold any other profession in government, but the presidency. its been that way since we founded, I’m sorry that that little girls dream isn’t ever going to happen but so many other have that dream as well and they just understand, i can’t hold the governor position in texas because, guess what, i wasn’t born in texas, i understand, and i still love texas, I’ve been in texas the same amount of time she has been in america( i moved form oklahoma to texas at the age of 7 months) but because i wasn’t born here than i just can’t, don’t get me wrong I’m all with changing with the times, but this isn’t something that requires being changed to update with the times. she’s not a natural born citizen and therefore she just can’t hold that position, she would have faced the same obstacle had she been adopted into a British home. its not just and american prejudice, its just something that has been in place to keep the interest of the country in the hands of someone who is born here, instead of having other influences. the voting system help make sure that, out of the natural citizens, that the one elected is theist for the country.
