Cat Person
Yurio let out a sigh as he shut the door
behind him. After a long week of training, it was
finally Thursday. Which meant tomorrow was Friday, and Friday was rest day. Rest
day and cheat day. Fast food here he comes. He let his bags drop to the ground before
toeing off his shoes and making a beeline for the kitchen.“Welcome home,” a voice called out from the
lounge as he headed for the kitchen.Oh yeah, he was also being forced to stay
with the disgusting-love-couple while Yakov was in America with Mila. It wasn’t
that bad of an arrangement, Potya got free roam of the house and Yuuri always
had food and clean clothes ready for him.“Oh, yeah, I’m home?” he replied with a
frown, still not use to acknowledging that he was home.“There is a salad in the fridge if you want
to snack on it. I’ll be cooking some steak in a little bit for dinner,” Yuuri’s
voice called out.He headed straight for the fridge to collect
the salad he was promised.Once his snack was in hand, he headed into
the lounge to see what Yuuri was up too.“Yo, Katsudon-“ Yuri started, only to pause
at the sight in front of him.Yuuri was spread out on the couch with
Makkachin curled up at his feet and Potya purring away on the Japanese man’s
chest.“Victor is pulling a few extra hours with
Lilia at the rinks, so it will just be us for dinner,” Yuuri told him while
staring at him without his glasses on.“What is this?” he blurted out before he
could stop himself. Yuuri started at him blankly for a moment before turning
back to Potya. The ragdoll started at Yuuri for a moment
before letting out a meow before head-butting Yuuri’s chin.“I don’t actually know,” Yuuri admitted hesitantly,
“I decided to take a nap after training and woke up like this.”Yuri stood there, munching on his salad
while watching his cat cuddle up with his biggest rival.“Didn’t know you were a cat person,” he
said between mouthfuls.“I like all animals,” Yuuri declared as
Potya continued to nuzzle the older man’s chin.A sudden idea came to him as he continued
to watch Potya and Yuuri together.“Say, Katsudon, smile.”
“NO!”
Yuri glanced up from his front door as the
front door slammed open.“No?” he questioned with an innocent look
and a tilt of his head.“How could you?” Victor demanded while
dropping his bag to the ground – which landed right beside his own, reminding
him that he need to move that before Yuuri got angry.“Could I what?” he questioned, trying to
hide just how smug he was.He had gotten a lovely photo of Yuuri and
Potya – okay more than one photo. He had gotten quite a few and had happily
shared them with Yuuri’s future husband with the simple caption ‘Cat Person’.“You-you-you-YOU CONVERTED MY HUSBAND!”
Victor shouted while pointing an accusing finger at him.“Firstly, you aren’t married yet,” he
pointed out blankly, causing Victor’s glare to deepen.“And second-“ he started, only to get cut
off.“WHY ARE WE SHOUTING!” Yuuri’s voice echoed
from somewhere else in the apartment.“I’M HOME!” Victor responded, his once
accusing glare dissolving into a smitten smile.“Welcome home,” Yuuri greeted as he
appeared, cradling Potya to his chest.Yuri watched in amusement as Victor’s mouth
dropped open in shock as he stared at Yuuri with a cat cuddled in his arms. After a moment of watching Victor gap,
Yuuri raised an eyebrow and glanced towards him.“What?” he questioned innocently.
“What did you do?” Yuuri questioned,
causing him to shrug and turn back to his phone.“Yurio,” Yuuri sighed but didn’t bother
pressuring him on the topic.Potya let out a meow, before leaving Yuuri’s
arms and making her way to where she belonged. Right into his lap.As much fun as it was to screw with Victor,
he didn’t partially like Potya cuddling up to other people. But he supposed he couldn’t blame Potya
from cuddling up with Yuuri, the Japanese man looked like a great cuddle buddy
and he would probably attempt to cuddle Yuuri if he was a cat too.But he wasn’t, so he wasn’t about to give
Yuuri the satisfaction of knowing that he seems like a wonderful cuddling
buddy.
