Mer Viktor is famous for his huge fins! They used to match with his long hair when he was younger.
He went through a pretty intense first change! Starting out with light gray scales and ending up with a deep magenta with golden markings.
The holes in his flipper come from a accident he had when he was younger. The accident involved a teen Viktor, a bunch of teen friends, a lost bet and a shark. Needless to say that while the accident’s result wasn’t fatal, it was far from nice ffffffft
Viktor competes in water dancing, which is similar to synchronized swimming, but solo. He also practices speed swimming as a hobbie and also to strenghten his tail muscles. His tail looks pretty, but can deliver some pretty hard hits!
Makkachin is, just like Vicchan, a seahorse. Same type, even! He’s just bigger and has a darker shade of brown. Just like Vicchan, Makachin likes to wrap his tail around Viktor’s hair strands and follow him around. Due to Makka’s size and Viktor’s short hair, however, nowadays Makka usually wraps his tail around Viktor’s ear or arm instead.
Also being a scientist pretty much gives you a free pass to be as eccentric as you want like you’ll be at a conference and it’s like “is that guy wearing socks and sandals and plaid pants???” “Ya but he was on the team that discovered gravitational waves let him be”
I once saw a highly-respected mineralogist take a slice of watermelon, put it between the two halves of a bagel, and eat it like a sandwich.
